Our Diversity Challenge returns

For financial professionals only

In 2021, we marked International Woman’s Day with a challenge to the fund managers we work with to explain how they support gender and broader diversity in their teams.

We found an improved gender split in new portfolio manager and analyst roles compared to 2019 – and a heartening number of mixed portfolio management teams for our funds. But progress was small, and gradual.

So as International Women’s Day rolls around again, we’ve gone back to them to see how the picture is looking for 2022.

In summary, as per last year we see cause for optimism. The gender balance for new hires in 2022, particularly in portfolio management, is excellent to see, as is the increasing number of mixed portfolio management teams.

We will, of course, continue to ask these questions in the hope that we’ll be reporting further progress next year. #BreakTheBias
